Kylie's International Blog Hop--Sympathy

When I think of sympathy cards, I generally think of those you send after a friend or loved one has died.  When I think of get well cards, I think of something you send with some is dealing with a short term illness or injury from which they will 100% recover.  What kind of card do you send when someone faces an accident or diagnosis that will change their life forever?  Which card is appropriate for someone either newly diagnosed with cancer or still undergoing treatment or facing side effects years later.

I looked up the definition of sympathy and found this:
1.  Feelings of pity or sorrow for someone else's misfortune
2.  Understanding between people; common feeling.

Based on the above definitions, I think a card for a cancer survivor is an appropriate entry for a sympathy card.  I feel sorrow (not pity) for their misfortune and share a common feeling or bond.  So, here is my entry for Kylie's International Blog Hop this month.
