One Sheet Wonder

The use of Designer Series Paper is one of the best ways to make a lot of really amazing cards quickly.  You can either find a design that you like and mass produce cards using the same design and different patterns of Designer Series Paper or you can do a One Sheet Wonder and use one sheet of Designer Series Paper to make several different designs.

This week I chose to make two different One Sheet Wonders-one making mostly Christmas cards with one sympathy card thrown in and one making a variety of cards.  When choosing to make One Sheet Wonders, Stampin' Up makes it so easy with their coordinating products.  Choose a One Sheet Wonder pattern you are going to use (There are a lot available on Pinterest).  Then, select coordinating cardstock and ink colors and choose which stamps you want to use.  To find coordinating color names, just look at the sticker on the back of the package of Designer Series Paper.

I do have one piece of advice before you begin your One Sheet Wonder project.  There are cards you can plan ahead and have time to prepare in advance--like holidays and birthdays.  It has been my unfortunate experience this year that you should have sympathy cards on hand.  Those are the one type of card that you don't expect to need and don't always feel like card making or have time for it when you discover you need one.  So, I would recommend always having some on hand.  And, thank you card are another genre that is always nice to have on hand as well.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I spent this Saturday working on Christmas tags.   I had hoped to get to share this experience with lots of friends and family, but it didn't work out that way.  Instead, my son and I got to spend the day crafting together.  It must have had a positive impact on him because this afternoon he was asking specific questions about where to find which products so he could make another tag.  He even remember the importance of cleaning the stamps before putting them away and found the stamp cleaner and stampin' scrub all on his own.

Here are photos of the tags I made as well of a list of products needed to create them for yourself:
Tags using Christmas Tree punch

For these tags, I punched Christmas trees out of This Christmas DSP (#141628) with a retired Christmas tree punch.  I then attached them to tags made of Whisper White (#100730) or Cherry Cobbler Cardstock (#119685).  Then Sentiments were added from either Stitched with Cheer stamp set (#142182) or Tin of Tags stamp set (#142180) either directly on the tag or on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock (#101650) and cut it out with a 1" Circle Punch (#119868).  The then finished up with accents from Metallic Enamel Shapes (#141678) and Presents and Pinecones Designer Washi Tape (#141988) and then finished them off with a ribbons at the top.

Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamps Tags

For these tags, images from the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp set (#142403) on Whisper White cardstock (#100730) and then punched them out with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch (#140396).  The Gingerbread Girl and Bear were stamped with Soft Suede Ink (#126978) and the Reindeer and Santa were colored in with markers or Aqua Painters (#103954).  The bows were stamped with Real Red Ink (#126949). The reindeer tag was made with retired DSP attached to a Whisper White Cardstock tag with a strip of Garden Green Cardstock (#102584)  and the other tags were made with wither Whisper White cardstock, Real Red Cardstock (#102482) or Early Espresso Cardstock (#119686) with strips of Candy Cane Lane DSP (Retired).  I then adhered the Cookie Cutter Christmas characters with Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430), sentiments were stamped from Cookie Cutter Christmas or Tin of Tags stamp set and the tags were finished off with ribbons.

Fa La La La Llama Tag

This tag was created from Whisper White Cardstock (#100730) and then stamped with Fa-La-La-La Friends Stamp Set (#1421267)  in Tuxedo Black Momento Ink (#132708) .  I then colored in the lights with Stampin' Up markers and added a Wisteria Wonder ribbon (#134572) to finish it off.

Christmas Gift Tags

These tags were made using Whisper White Cardstock (#100730) and stamped with retired Christmas Gift Tags set in Tuxedo Black Momento Ink (#132708).  One card with first watercolored with Garden Green ink (#126973) with Aqua Painters (#103954).  The Snowmen were then colored in with Stampin' Up markers and the tags were finished off with Wild Wasabi ribbons (#134570)
Tags with added Bling
It's always fun to add some bling to paper projects.  Here are some tags made with added bling.  I used a Crumb cake cardstock (#120953)  to make the first tag and stamped snowflakes from Star of Light (#142110) and Tin of Tags (#142180) stamp sets in Whisper White Craft Ink (#101731).  The second tag was made with Whisper White Cardstock (#100730) and use the Star of Light and  Banner Blessings stamp sets in Elegant Eggplant (#126969) and Perfect Plum (#126963) stamp pads.  I then finished them off with Metallic Enamel Shapes (#141678), Pearl Basic Jewels (#119247), Rhinestone Basic Jewels (#119246), and ribbons.

Tin of Tags Christmas Tags

To make these tags I use Aqua Painters (#103954) and Perfect Plum (#126963) and Tempting Turquoise (#126592) inks to make backgrounds on Whisper White cardstock (#100730)  and then stamped the Tin of Tags stamp set (#142180) in Elegant Eggplant (#126969) and Pacific Point (#126951) inks.  I then added embellishments from Metallic Enamel Shapes (#141678) and Rhinestone Basic Jewel (#119247) and finished them off with ribbon or baker's twine.

On all the tags if you can't see To: From: on the front, it is stamped on the back so you can personalize the tag.  I hope you all have a great time making your own gift tags.

Tin of Tags kit and stamp sets are on the Year End Close Out sale.  Check them out if you want all your gift tag needs in one place or use my ideas or come up with your own.  And, I would love if you would send me pics of what you create.

Adventures in my family almost always have something to do with the outdoors and often have something to do with hunting and/or dogs.  So, a card having a dog on point seemed perfect for this challenge.  What would be an adventure in your life?

Online Extravaganza--Paper Pumpkin

In the previous post, I shared pictures of some alternate card designs I made with my Paper Pumpkin October 2016 kit.  I got most of these ideas off Pinterest so I can't take credit for these.  There are so many talented artists out there who are willing to share so many of their creative ideas on Pinterest.  So, if you choose to sign up for Paper Pumpkin, be sure you check out the creative alternate ideas you can find on Pinterest.
Refills of some of the Paper Pumpkin kits are available to purchase if you love the kit and want to make more projects than you can with your original kit.  Most of the time, these refill kits are only available to current Paper Pumpkin customers.  But, during Online Extravaganza, there are some kits or refill kits available to ALL Stampin' Up customers.  So, if you've always wanted to check out Paper Pumpkin, but weren't sure you wanted to take the plunge to sign up, this is your chance to pick the kit or refill you want to play with and get it on SALE during the Online Extravaganza.  Just remember when you're looking at the Paper Pumpkin items on sale, the kits are what comes with the ink spot and stamp set; the refill kits only have the pieces needed to create more of the projects.  They DO NOT have ink spots or the stamp set

I have created a video showing me making an alternate Paper Pumpkin Project.  Since some Paper Pumpkin kit are available to EVERYONE this week, I will make this video available to EVERYONE. In the future, I will be making a video about Paper Pumpkin alternate projects each month, but that video will only be available to customers.

Online Extravaganza--Project Life

Today I want to talk about Project Life.  Stampin' Up does not only have card supplies, it also carries the Project Life series to help with memory keeping (or as I always called it--scrapbooking).  Those who know me know that my first love of paper crafting was scrapbooking.  And, my favorite scrapbook magazine was Simple Scrapbooks  with editor Becky Higgins.  Imagine my delight when I discovered Becky Higgins has developed a plan to make scrapbooking less daunting and more achievable.  That system is called Project Life and Stampin' Up has joined in on the excitement of their product.

What is even more exciting is that Hello December 2016 is part of the Online Extravaganza.  This is an awesome way to be introduced to the Project Life products.  They can be used for memory keeping or even for making cards.

I don't personally have the Hello December 2016 set yet, but I do have the Seasonal Snapshots 2015 set that is now available on clearance.  Here are some examples of cards that I made using the Seasonal Snapshots 2015 set from Project Life.

I also spent some time today preparing Pocket pages with my Seasonal Snapshots 2015 Project Life set.  Now, I am all ready to print and put photos in after our holiday celebrations and add a few embellishments.  The photo mats are even all ready to go.   There are several designs of pocket pages available with spaces available for the exact sizes of cards in each Project Life set.  If you want to continue traditional scrapbooking, there are also 12x12 page protectors available in the Project Life series as well.

If you want to see the Hello December 2016 Project Life set that is on sale during the Online Extravaganza, check out this video.

Global Design Project 062 | Sketch Challenge

The Global Design Project this week was a sketch.  I was so excited that it reminded me of my very first NEW design--the first one I ever created out of my own brain.  So, I decided to re-tweak it to make it for this project--#GDP062

I wanted to make a fall nature scene with pumpkins, but did not have a pumpkin stamp.  So, I began looking through my stamp sets for the shapes needed to create pumpkins.  Can I just say how much I love the Swirly Birds Stamp Set.  It is so versatile and has amazing stamps that can create an infinite number of cards.  I was able to use stamps from that set to create pumpkins with stems and leaves in a patch of grass.

Here is a picture of the first attempt at this card.

For #GDP062 I made a few additions as I created my card for the Global Design Project.  Here is the card I created for the project

I added some Halloween Designer Specialty Paper, the cardstock base to Early Espresso, and the ink color to Pumpkin Pie.  I'd love some feedback on the changes.  What do you think?  Which design do you prefer?  Does it need anything else added?

Thanks for checking out my design for Global Design Project 062.  To check out the examples created by the design team and see the other entries click here: Global Design Project

Online Extravaganza--24 Hour Sale #1

Online Extravaganza starts at 12:01am Mountain Time.  I am so excited about this week of sales, I am almost tempted to stay up until it starts. I did say almost--I will be asleep long before that happens.  ðŸ˜‰  And, I want to give all of you time to see if you want to join me in placing an order.  So, I will be placing my order tomorrow evening.  You have until around 6:00pm if you want to add to my order.  That's a great way to share shipping costs.  You can also share shipping costs with a friend near you.  Don't forget, if you spend over $150.00 you will earn rewards.

The first 24 hour sale has some great bundles available that were created especially for this sale.
One of them is a bundle of Enamel Shapes.  I will be attaching photos of some of the cards I've created using Enamel Shapes so you can see some ways they can be used.

The gift bag and gift box punch board are also on sale during this 1st Flash Sale.  Those would be a great way to use some of the great paper that Stampin' Up offers to make really special gift wrapped packages for Christmas.  I would encourage you to definitely take advantage of this sale if you took advantage of the Designer Series Paper Sale this fall.

To check out what's on sale, check out this link:  Stampin' Up Store.
Don't forget to enter my name as a demonstrator and/or contact me to help with your order.

Here are the samples of the cards I've made using Enamel Shapes.  I hope you are inspired by what you see to create some masterpieces of your own.  I would love to see your work.  Please send me photos of the cards you create so I can be inspired by your creativity as well.
