Think Spring

Thoughts of spring seem to be inspiring me right now.  I'm not sure whether it is wishful thinking or if I'm feeling the beginning of spring knocking on my door.  I guess it is only the beginning of March and is currently supposed to be acting like a lion and it won't be until the end of March that stops behaving like a lion and acts more like a lamb.  I am ready.  I am ready for the weather to stop it's roller coaster habits and the wind to calm down for more than a couple of minutes.
I was so excited to get to pull out my Stamparatus and use it with the Colorful Seasons stamp set.  I was so thrilled to be able to line up two step stamps and have the end result be about what I imagined it would be. I specifically chose to use stamps from this stamp set that I hadn't successfully been able to match up when creating cards previously.  The Stamparatus is a game changer for me.  The Tic Tac Toe a chose to make for the Paper Craft Crew challenge this week is the center row: oval, elements of springtime, and clean & simple

Christmas in March

Today's card is for the Watercooler Wednesday All About Christmas challenge.  I love any excuse I can get for making more Christmas cards.  In theory, I would be getting ready for next Christmas, making a pile of cards ready to send out in November.  In reality, this very card may find its way into someones mailbox this month.  :)

If you like this card and would like to CASE it and get started making your Christmas cards for this year, or like me, still play catch up on Christmas 2017, all products used on this card are still available.  They are all listed at the end of this post.

Sale-a-bration for GDP 127 and CAS 261

We have entered the last month of Sale-a-bration and I expect you're going to be seeing a lot of Sale-a-bration items used on this blog.  I find myself drawn to them as I find time to create.  Today, I chose the Epic Celebrations Stamp Set and was inspired by items in my own life.  I used the masking technique to feature both the sneakers and headphones on the same area of the sketch.

I felt like Lemon Lime Twist was a perfect color for this card base.  Ever since I saw it revealed as one of the 2017-2019 In Colors, it has reminded me of my teenage years in the '80s.  So, does the Epic Celebration stamp set.  I chose to use the Stampin' Blends to color in the sneakers to match my favorite pair during high school.  I even have my purple shoes on in my Senior pictures.  Of course, mine were high tops, but you can't have everything.  Headphones have also been a huge part of my life as they allow me to listen to whatever music I want without having to deal with the differing musical tastes of my family.  What's especially awesome to me is that this style of sneakers and headphones are currently laying around my house, property of my teenager.  I guess that's proof that fashion is a cycle and everything comes around eventually.  :)

I made this into a thank you card.  I want to challenge you to look around the house and see how many of your stamp sets would make great thank you cards.  I'll bet you have more than you realize.

I was inspired by the theme from GDP127 and the sketch from CAS 261.  Make sure you head over to the challenges to see the inspiration cards by the design team and other creative entries.

Video: March Online Class Featuring Hold on to Hope Stamp Set--Week 1

This is always my favorite Thursday of the month--the first Thursday  It always means the first week of a brand new featured stamp set and I am always excited to start something new.  In March, we are featuring Hold on to Hope.  This card features on the sentiment stamps from the stamp set.

I chose to use Berry Burst and the sentiment that celebrates the recipient of the card.  This could be used for a birthday, baptism, confirmation, any event that calls for a celebration.  My original sample card featured Old Olive and the scripture verse from Isaiah that is contained in this set.  That is perfect for any occasion that needs an encouragement card.
Which is your favorite?

You're in my Thoughts and Prayers for PCC382

I decided to make the type of card today that no one really likes to think about needing, but might make the most difference in someones life  No one likes to think about needing a sympathy card or one to encourage someone struggling with any difficulty in life.  But what's worse than needing a card for those occasions is not having any ready made when you need them.  We can plan ahead for birthdays, holidays, weddings, baby celebrations, retirements, etc  But, there is no way to plan ahead for a sympathy or encouragement card.  We all know they will be needed at some point, but there is no real way to determine exactly when that point will be.  So, I always try to have at least one on hand even though I am still figuring out the best way to get my cards from my desk into a stamped and addressed envelope and out to the mailbox.  But, that's a story for another day

I love the Memories & More kits and the way they coordinate so well with other products in the catalog.  I love that it was so simple to coordinate colors for this card using products from the Petal Garden suite and finding a card from the Petal Garden Memories & More kit on which to stamp the sentiment and draw all the elements together.

I also fell even more in love with the Stamparatus.  I've been dreaming about how wonderful it would be to use ever since I learned of its existence back in November at OnStage LIVE.  I've been impatiently waiting since I reserved mine in November.   Well, it arrived yesterday and I was so excited my husband said my blood pressure would be elevated at my cardiologist appointment.  It wasn't btw, but that appointment did keep me from playing with my Stamparatus until today.  If you watched my FB live this afternoon, you got to see my first ever use of the Stamparatus.  It was amazing.  The video is on my YouTube Channel and will be on tomorrow's blog post.  I have not quit using it on every card I've made since then.  I was so thankful for it on this card because my first stamping attempt of the inside sentiment missed a few words.  If you've ever done that, you know how frustrating it is and how nearly impossible it can be to line up even photopolymer exactly to stamp on top of an image.   It was so easy with the Stamparatus.  I didn't even really have to think about it, just re-ink the stamp and stamp again.  The Stamparatus is a game changer.
