Happy Birthday Rose

This weekend was all about celebrations.  Saturday's post shared my anniversary card. If you missed it, see it here.  Today's card is the birthday card I made for my Grandma for her 91st birthday.  I even managed to get 91 on the banner.I thought the Garden Impressions DSP added a perfect layer to the card and tied together the embossed Layering Leaves card front with the stamped images.  

 If you haven't tried to DistINKtive stamps, you have to at least give them a try.  I am blown away by the depth and detail you get with just one stamped image.  This rose amazes m so much I had to stamp it on the inside of the card as well.

More Than the Stars

Until I began designing this project, I had no idea how many of our current Stampin' Up! DSP had papers that could be used for starry skys.  I was already aware that Twinkle, Twinkle DSP would be perfect for this project.  But, I didn't expect that all four panels would be from different DSP sets.  Technically the polka dotted DSP from the 2018-2020 In Colors set looks more like a night sky in Blueberry Bushel, but that did not fit the color challenge for Global Design Project 149

Creating the stars background with the Little Twinkle Stamp Set was the most fun part of this card for me.  I even got to put a constellation in there.  Can you find it?

Video: August Online Class Featuring Wood Words Stamp Set--Week 1

The start of a new month means a new featured stamp set.  This month we are featuring Wood Words.  Today's card is a welcome card.  It could be for a new baby, but it could also be for a new neighbor, team member, co-worker, etc.  It's really for anyone you want to welcome into your life.  This card also gave me the chance to practice hinge-step stamping with the Stamparatus to create precise even rows.

Diagonal Lines in Nature

The first time I saw the sketch for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge I was a bit perplexed.  I just kept focusing on the diagonal stripes at the bottom of the card and kept trying to figure out how to successfully cut a strip with diagonal stripes from my DSP with the least amount of waste.  I'm still not sure I managed the least amount of waste possible, but I do love the look of the diagonal stripes at the bottom of this card.  It seems to tie in with the images of the leaves with their diagonal veins and the wood grain of the stump image.

Stained Glass Roses and Bells of Celebration
