Global Design Project 106 | Sketch Challenge Makes a Tic Tac Toe

Fall is here and I've been spending most of my creative time lately playing with  the new items from the Holiday catalog.  This week, I happen to be right in the middle of a virtual party and have been spending a lot of time looking at everything available.  For some reason, that combine with the weeks GDP Sketch and Tic Tac Toe board made me want to pull our my Petal Garden DSP and Rose Garden thinlits and create with those.  I love cutting out a rose outline thinlit and using it as a stencil to sponge the image of the rose.  I chose to use the Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry that coordinate with the Petal Garden DSP.  I made the tic tac toe with stencil and green using the open (or free) space.

Video: September Online Class Featuring Jars of Love Stamp Set Week 4

It's time for the final card in the September Online Class using Jars of Love stamp set.  This week we created a card with the final F of the month--flowers.  We also used my favorite ribbon from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog--Lemon Lime Twist Ombre ribbon.  I find myself reaching for it as I make new cards all the time.

Embossed ghosts and leaves for three challenges

 I've had a design running through my head for awhile now and just  finally got the time to take it from my head and make it a reality.  When I saw the challenges for this week, I knew I had to make this card with more than one design.  So, I chose to use the retired seasonal masks with the embossing paste to create ghosts for one card and leaves for the other.  Did you know ghosts and fall leaves are the same shape?

 They do require different coloring techniques.  Both started out as white embossing paste with the seasonal masks.  Then, I added eyes with a Basic Black marker for the ghosts.  I wondered if the baby wipe technique would work to add  color to the embossed shapes in fall colors.  I was so excited when it did.

My Tic Tac Toe used autumn colors, dimension, and rounded corners.

Red Ribbon Week Card for Paper Players Sketch 260

 As a mom and learning coach for my kids, I remembered that Red Ribbon week is the last week of October.  Since the Ribbon of Courage stamp set is one of my featured stamp sets of the month. I decided to create a card to make during my online class the last week of October using a Red Ribbon.    I was able to create a card that works for submission in the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge 260

One thing I've been wanting to try for awhile was flicking my Stampin' Up! marker against its cap to make ink splatters on my card.  This design was the perfect card to try that with.  It was so much fun, I decided to splatter the inside of the card as well.  This is one thing you can do with the Stampin' Up! markers that I haven't figured out how to do with the ink pads.

Candy Cane Lane DSP (Retired)

Painted Harvest Wreath for FMS306

I've seen other demonstrators using the Painted Harvest set to make Christmas wreaths so I thought I'd give it a try.  I am thrilled with how this turned out.  I think the DSP looks like wallpaper and the wreath looks just like something I'd hang during Christmas.  The Berry Burst ink made perfect berries on the wreath and tie in perfectly with the DSP and Itty Bitty Bow.  It always makes my day to find stamp sets that are appropriate for more than one season of the year.

Walnut River Festival

Cookie Cutter Halloween Stamp Set (retired)

PP362--Harvest Theme

Harvest time and fall products are so much fun to play with.  How appropriate that the Paper Players Challenge on the first day of fall is a Harvest Theme.  I love the Painted Autumn Suite and it was so much fun to put circles of varying Painted Autumn DSP on a Crumbcake cardstock layer that has been embossed with Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  That gives it such a rich texture.

An unexpected bonus if you cut a circle of DSP bigger than you decide you need, is that when you cut it down to size, you're left with a perfect ring of matching DSP that can be used to decorate the interior of the card.
