March has 5 Thursdays and that means we get to have a 5th Thursday class with Hold on to Hope teaching a technique. This month I decided to use a card we had done earlier in class and show how to make a similar design using just stamps, ink, and paper.
My technique this month was masking, but in the process of creating this card, we also use the marker technique and I used the Stamparatus. It will be available for you to purchase on June 1. To see the online class for this card, check out the video below.

I was inspired recently by a picture of a sloth reading a book and have been waiting to find a challenge that inspired me to add a sloth a books. This is it. I found myself using the marker technique quite a bit on this card. I used a Crumb cake marker to color only the sloth on the stamp and then had him hang from a bookshelf and colored him in using Watercolor pencils and a blender pen. I then colored in the books on the shelf and the ones he is holding with In-Color Markers.
I thought the Tutti Frutti DSP looked a little like wallpaper and was perfect for this card. What do you think?

I am part of Kylie's Go for Greece Taining Group. It is amazing and I am learning so much. Whether or not I earn the trip to Greece, I am learning so much to help build my business and meeting other amazing demonstrators around the world. We are doing a blog hop together and the only guideline for the project is that it use current Stampin' Up! products.
I decided to create a card using a Sale-a-bration item since this is the last week that it will be a current Stampin' Up! product. If you would like to have some for yourself, you can still Earn it until Saturday, March 31. I love adding color to the DSP with the Stampin' Blends. I didn't have any blends in appropriate color for the leaves, so I used a Stampin' Write Old Olive marker. It worked out OK. Once I colored in my flowers, I fussy cut them out and added them to my card. I even added rhinestones to the center of the flowers as well as the dots on the DSP to add a little bling. This also helped me make a Tic, Tac, Toe diagonally using rhinestones, metallic, and twine. The Smoky Slate baker's twine I used is retired, but you could replace it with any current twine or ribbon of your choice.
