May Flowers in the Retiring In Colors

The whole process of designing this card was a new one for me.  I knew I wanted to use the 2016-2018 In Colors and I wanted to create "May flowers", but that is really all I knew when I started.  I chose my stamp set based on the flowers I wanted to use and laid the In Color Ink Pads in front of me.  At first, I could not envision how to get all five colors on this one card.  Once I figured out I wanted to use Dapper Denim as the card base with Color Theory DSP angled across the card front and I know the leaves would be Emerald Envy I just started playing with the ink colors and thinlit pieces to create the flowers for the focal point of the card.  I cut out more pieces than I ended up using and just kept layering and changing layers until I was satisfied with the result and glued the flowers to the DSP.

I added Clear Faceted Gems and Wink of Stella for the final touches.  I've never entered one card in four challenges before, but I guess that's what happens when you meet the entry criteria for a sketch, color, and theme challenge and make a tic-tac-toe (floral, free, thanks)
