Trick or Tweet--The Ghosts of Halloween

When I first began thinking about adding texture to a card, I thought of embossing paste.  And then when thinking about embossing paste and considering my various masks I had to use with the paste, I couldn't help but think of the paisley mask from the retired Seasonal masks set and how much they look like ghosts  When I opened my embossing paste it was dried out, but I was determined to make this work.  So, my lovely husband helped me revitalize the paste by adding a few drops of water, stirring vigorously for awhile, and then repeating the process.    I had all the other pieces ready to go, but went to bed with the paste still resting, not knowing if the design in my head was going to make it to a card today or not.  Well, I woke up this morning to embossing paste ready to make my dream a reality.  So, I carefully added it to my card front and left that piece on my desk to dry.  Imagine my horror when I entered the room awhile later to find my office trash can had been set directly on top of my card front.  It was STUCK TO THE BOTTOM!!!!  I managed to carefully dislodge it without too much difficulty.  I think it just gives the ghosts character.  :)  I did add eyes  to the ghosts floating across the card front.

The embossing paste added textured ghosts to my card front that kind of match the cute ghost stamp from Cauldron Bubbles that is stamped on my card interior.  The gorgeous Glittered Organdy Ribbon bow at the top of the frame for the bird "ghost" is another touch of texture.  That ribbon can only be truly appreciated in person.  I hope you have a chance to see some for yourselves.

Make sure you head over to the challenges to see the inspiration cards by the design teams and other creative entries.

  1. What an inventive idea Angel. The paisleys do indeed look like ghosts and have truly ghostly texture as they fade in and out across the card! Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week.

    1. Thanks Kim. Those paisleys always remind me of ghosts. I thought they would make a fun background for my ghost trick or tweeter.
