Happy Birthday with Emboss Resist 2nd Attempt

I just wasn't in love with how the emboss resist technique worked on my previous card, so I thought I'd give the technique another try.  Since I needed another birthday card, I also intend to enter this in Stampin' Up! Only Challenge 180.  And, I decided to use the colors from the Color Inkspiration Challenge, so this one card ends up meeting the requirements for three challenges.
I embossed the flowers from the Wood Words stamp set with white embossing powder.  Then I sponged around the embossed flowers with Smoky Slate.  The picture does not do it justice, but it created a nice darker area around the flowers and differentiated those areas from the navy cardstock with no ink sponged on it.  The sentiment was stamped in Versamark on Soft Sky, heat embossed with white embossing powder, and sponged with smoky slate ink to use the emboss resist technique again.  The Smoky Slate was sponged around the edges of the interior layer of the card, which is Soft Sky.
