It is that time again--there was a 5th Thursday this month, so it is time for a Technique Video. This was technically the November Facebook LIVE online class. I'm a little late getting things posted, so it is now December believe it or not. I guess it really is time for those Christmas cards and it's even time to start getting them in the mail.
The featured stamp set of the month was used to create the background on the card base and detail on the card interior. I also used the Making Christmas Bright stamp set to stamp some light bulbs with Balmy Blue and then punched them out with the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch along with more bulbs in Silver. For the technique, I used the Rejoice sentiment from the His Light stamp set. I'm sorry the technique did not work like I hoped it would in the video. But, the card above is the one I started during the video and ended immediately following. In case you want to try this technique for yourself, I'll let you in on a little secret. The technique was exactly the one I tried to use on the video, but I really spent time cleaning the stamp before starting again and added the paint from light to dark instead of dark to light. It worked out so much better that way.
Check out the video tutorial below and remember to start with a completely clean stamp when trying this for yourself.
I was inspired by the sketch for Freshly Made Sketches 365 when designing this card. Make sure you head over to FMS365 to see the inspiration cards by the design team and other creative entries.
