Waterfront Christmas for FabFri152

It's hard to believe Christmas is less than a week away.  It's even harder to believe it because the weather is unseasonably warm in our neck of the woods right now,.  The kiddos are "dreaming of a white Christmas." but I don't think that's in the forecast. In fact, I believe if we head to any water around here, we will see it still looking a bit like the picture on this card--calm, cool water, not frozen over at all.  Regardless of whether we're looking at water or ice; rain, snow, or sun; it is still the most wonderful time of the year.  I hope everyone enjoys the time with family and friends next week and has a very Merry Christmas.

I was inspired by the colors of the FabFri152 color challenge for this card.  The card base is Mossy Meadow, The first card layer and sentiment stamp color is Cherry Cobbler. The land is stamped in Soft Suede; the water in Pool Party; and the trees in Shaded Spruce.  The landscape images were then gone over with the Aquapainter to soften the lines and add more of a watercolor look.

Make sure you head over to FabFri152 to see the inspiration cards by the design team and other creative entries.

    1. Thanks Amanda. I saw Jackie Bolhuis use this technique with the aquapainter and knew I needed to try it for myself. I love how it gives an almost impressionistic feel to the image.

  3. What a fun use of this set, Angel - I have to remember to flip that mountain upside down to make a lake! A beautiful scene! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!

    1. Thanks Heather. I actually made the lake with the water stamp stamped part way off the cardstock.
