Video: April Online Class Featuring Rose Wonder--Week 1

Here is the picture of the finished card from today's April Online Class Featuring Rose Wonder stamp set.  I love when a new month rolls around and it's time to feature a new stamp set.  This month we are featuring the Rose Wonder stamp set and Rose Gar.den thinlits.  

 I love used several different techniques on this card.  I got to use the Big Shot for embossing "celebrate" on the Crumbcake panel and cutting out the rose thinlit in both Berry Burst and Power Pink.  It was so easy to adhere to the card front since I used multipurpose adhesive sheets before cutting out the thinlit.  Piecing the Power Pink petals inside the Berry Burst frame outline was a fun exercise putting a puzzle together.  I used pearls as the embellishment on this version of the card and a sparkle of Wink of Stella all over the rose.

I even used sponging on the card interior.  This is my favorite design for the interior of a Rose Wonder card, so you may see it again as we make more cards this month.

Music--My Favoirte Theme

Those who have known me for any amount of time and know anything about my life outside of papercrafting know that music is now and has always been a huge part of my life.  In fact, the first thing I look for anytime a new catalog comes out is anything music related.  I was thrilled to see the weekly challenge theme for the Paper Players is music.  :)

I still have some Merry Medley DSP so I decided to create a Christmas card for this challenge.  I was hoping to find "O Little Town of Bethlehem" among that DSP to go with the Bethlehem edgelit, but that song was not represented.  I went with "O Come Let Us Adore Him: instead.  I know I technically could have used any music background, but for my own sanity, I needed something directly related to the meaning of the design.

The inside of the card shows Mary and Joseph travelling to Bethlehem and the sentiment tells us the Him we are adoring.

Best Mom Ever for Case This Sketch 265

Today brings another example of a card Stepped Up using the same stamp set and basic products with extra embellishments.  Creating the apron with stamps along requires several steps and may not instantly appear simple, but with the use of the Stamparatus this card qualifies as simple.  If you haven't had a chance to play with the Stamparatus yet, find a way to make it happen.  You can play with mine at a class.  They will be available for purchase when the new annual catalog goes LIVE June 1.

Stepped Up Version of Simple Stamp Class Card for tgifc153

Today is my very first attempt at something new for me.  Last month, I started a new class,  Simple Stamping.  We will be continuing to have the Simple Stamping class.  That's a great place to bring a friend you'd like to introduce to stamping, come stamp with your child or grandchild, try out stamping yourself, or just come make a project without added bling.

  

Today, I decided to create a stepped up version of the Simple Stamping class card.  I was hoping to show what can happen if you add a few elements and/or techniques to the design.  You can, of course, add as many of the design elements as you want to your card to make it your very own.

World Autism Day--Red Instead!

Today is World Autism Day and that is something we recognize in this house.  It is something, however, we wear red.  We recognize autism awareness month with #redinstead.  To learn more about that, google #redinstead.

After using the red background, I used the Brush Stroke Alphabet and the Stamparatus to create the saying Temple Grandin's mother, Eustacia Cutler, use to say to her, "Different not Less."  Autism is about neurodiversity and being different, not less than.  I also created the rainbow infinity symbol by cutting out two ribbons with the Big Shot using Support Ribbon thinlits.  I then adhered them together, trimmed them, and watercolored the rainbow color using my Aquapainter.

Stamparatus--Coming in June with 2018-2019 Annual Catalog

Happy Easter--He Is Risen

 Happy Easter!

I started this card awhile ago in preparation for the celebration of Easter weekend.  I began working on this card front during my video that demonstrated using the Stamparatus with only one hand.  If you'd like to receive occasional video tutorials and pdf tutorials for projects you won't see anywhere else, join my mailing list.  I  used the Stamparatus for all the stamping on the front of this card.  At least, for me, I would never have been able to line up the letters to spell out Grace without the use of the Stamparatus.

I created the card front to represent Good Friday and added the sentiment "amazing Grace" to show why we call it Good Friday instead of Evil Friday.  Then, the good news of Easter is represented on the inside with the empty tomb with the stone rolled away.  :)  The tomb is made of stones punched out of Basic Grey circles with the 1" circle punch.  The stone is made cutting out a circle with the BigShot.
All are attached with glue dots to create the empty tomb.
