Global Design Project 126 | Sketch Challenge

I'm really trying to work hard to figure out a balance in my life right now, so that I can give good, quality time to my Stampin' Up! business while not shortchanging my family, faith, friends, or any other part of my life.  That is not always an easy balance to find.  If any of you have ideas out there for me on good ways to find that balance, please comment below and let me know what works for you.

One of the solutions I am trying right now is to design and cut out projects in advance and then take the pieces with me to put together the project during those "waiting" moments.  Over the weekend, I took a Paper Pumpkin kit along and put the entire thing together while waiting as my family enjoyed Comic-con.  Today, I put this card together in the car while waiting for husband to finish an appointment before heading to a medical appointment for another family member.

What I learned is that with a little planning ahead, I can make cards anywhere.  :)  And, you can too.  Who doesn't spend time waiting somewhere every week.  With a little planning ahead, you can take a kit or parts to a card and assemble it while you wait.

This card was inspired by the Global Design Project sketch this week.  Make sure you head over to GDP126 to see the inspiration cards by the design team and other creative entries.

Hold on to Hope for CAS 259

Ever since I saw the sketch for this week's CAS challenge, I started thinking about the Color Theory DSP and the ombre stripes.  I thought they would be perfect for the stripes in this sketch.  I love all the elements of the Color Theory Suite and the fact that they make coordination so easy.  I think using different shades of the same color adds just enough interest to make a monochromatic card interesting.

I chose to use the Old Olive from the Color Theory Suite and used it for all elements except the ribbon.  That is Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon, but I thought it looked pretty great on this card.  I used an Itty Bitty Punch from the Tutti Frutti Suite to make the tag.  To see what I did, make sure you check out this week's video.  I'll be LIVE on Facebook Thursday at 2pm CT.

My favorite part of Stampin' Up!

Whenever I'm asked about my favorite part of Stampin' Up! I always have the same answer.  I love paper crafting, rubber stamping, the coordination of products, and the ability to exercise my creativity.  But, my absolute favorite part of Stampin' Up! is the community of people.  I love getting together with fellow stampers and creating amazing products.  As a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator, I love connecting with other demonstrators locally and around the world through in person and online events.  Today was the first team meeting I was able to attend with my team, Daveda's Stampin' Sisters.  I haven't gotten to stamp with these ladies since OnStage in November and some I had never had the privilege of meeting until today.

We had a shoebox swap along with our team meeting, so there was a little talk of business, a little sharing of projects,  a few questions, prizes, and lots of stamping, friends, fun, and of course food.
Here's a pic of three of the eight of us working on projects and a pic of the projects created.

If you would love to be a part of the team fun, join my team.  When you join my team, you become a GRRRace Inker and also a part of Daveda's Stampin' Sisters, and the SWAS team.  What an amazing Stampin' Up! family to join.  You also become a part of the amazing international community of Stampin' Up! demonstrators and will instantly have access to amazing worldwide stampin' family members.

Contact me for more information.

This is a great time to join because during Sale-A-Bration you can choose an additional TWO FREE stamp sets of your choice in addition to $125 of Stampin' Up! products for $99 plus tax with FREE SHIPPING.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Chinese New Year is being celebrated today. 2018 is the year of the dog. It definitely feels like the year of the dog (s) at my house with our three big furbabies part of everything we do.  So,I decided to make a card to celebrate Chinese New Year.

As I was doing research on Chinese New Year, I noticed how important red and gold are to this celebration. I used Real Red for the card base and one of the strips on the card front. Gold can be found in the Eastern Medallian thinlit, vinyl stickers and toussled gold thread.
The red and white were both part of the Paper Players color challenge this week. So, I  made the dog paw out of crumbcake using three hearts --one for the large pad and the other two cut in half and trimmed to make toes.
