Crafting Together

This Saturday was a fun day full of stamping and connection with Daveda's Stamping Sisters.  That is the team I joined when I became a Stampin' Up! independent demonstrator which means when someone joins my team (GRRRace Ink), they also join Daveda's Stamping Sisters and get to have team fun at those meeting as well.

I absolutely love getting to participate in these team meetings.  Even if I have to leave my house at 6am or so to get to the meeting in time, I am still energized throughout my time with my team, my friends, my "people".

Crafting alone can have positive benefits, but crafting together also creates some really great things. Here is what I gain during team meetings:
Connection
Support
Questions Answered
Learn something new
New relationships form
Other relationships strengthened
Get to play with new product
Inspiration
Relaxation
Friends
Food
Fun

We brought swaps to our team meeting.  The design above is mine. As I was prepping my swap, I learned some important facts about myself.  We were to bring 12 swaps. I created 12 card bases out of Smoky Slate cardstock and cut the front of the card with the ribbon die from the Arts & Crafts Dies set.  I then stamped and cut out the sentiment dies and stitched shape circles using a die machine..

As I began to think about finishing the cards, I realized I didn't want 12 exactly the same.  To maintain my own interest and excitement about this card, I needed to make them with some differences.  What I decided to do was cut different patterns of the Follow Your Art DSP for the cards and then either just add DSP to the card front to make the card front 5 1/2" in length with a strip of matching DSP  on the card interior OR emboss a row of buttons on the card interior with a shorter piece of DSP added to the front of the card so you can see the embossed row of buttons with the card either opened or closed.

I found my limit making a stack of identical cards.  It stops becoming fun for me and starts to turn into frustration, anxiety, and work after about 4 or 5.  So, here are the different cards I ended up making.

Which is your favorite?
