SUO 173--All That's Feminine

Today I decided to play along with the Stampin' Up Only challenge. It is almost Mother's Day and a perfect time to spend time creating feminine cards.  The SUO challenge #173 is all about feminine cards.

I have been playing with the new Eastern Palace Bundle and wanted to try it with other colors.  I thought this was the perfect opportunity.  So, I used softer colors that went with the Falling in Love DSP.  I was amazed at the completely different mood that can be created using the same stamp set with different colors.

I love decorating the inside of cards and I think the splash of smoky slate behind the butterflies gives the illusion that they're flying.

Video: Balloon Adventures Card 1

A new month means a new stamp set for the weekly online videos.  This month we will be using Balloon Adventures and since I am so sad it's retiring, we will be creating bonus cards the last two weeks of May using the Nailed It stamp set.  Good news for all of you: Since I was so far behind this month getting samples posted, you have until Monday, May 8 to RSVP for this month's online class. Both of the stamp sets being used this month are retiring, so if you love them, make sure you place an order before they're gone.

When I was cleaning up after today's video, I found the "let's celebrate" banner and realized I had forgotten to attach it during the video.  So, here is a picture of the card complete.

Watch today's video to see me make this card and to see me open my box that arrived from Stampin' Up today.  As of 5:44pm Thursday, May 4, all of those products are still available to purchase.  You can purchase them in my store if you are interested.

Balloon Adventures Online Class

WHEW!!!  I am a little behind this month getting samples up for the online class.  So, you get to benefit from my tardiness.  I have extended the deadline to RSVP to next Monday, May 8.  You will not get to play along live tomorrow, but you can always play along with the recording any time that works with your schedule.

Just a reminder as to how this works.  Each month, I feature one stamp set.  This month it is the Balloon Adventures stamp set.  You purchase the stamp set, and any ink, stamping block, adhesive that you need.  Then, let me know which weeks you would like to play along and how many paper kits you need.  The kits are $3.00 each or $10.00 for all four weeks. Each kit contains the paper supplies and specialty adhesive needed to create two cards. Envelopes are NOT included.

Here are the cards we will be creating this month.
Week 1--May 4
\
Week 2--May 11

Week 3--May 18
Week 4--May 25

I will be adding a couple of suprise cards using the Nailed It stamp set. If you would like to play along with those card as well, let me know and I will send you one card kit for each card for FREE. All you have to do is order the stamp set in my store. Both stamp sets used this month will be retiring, so if you like them, get them while you still can.

Products used to create these cards:  Ink colors may be substituted for any color combination you like.  Elements can be fussy cut instead of using punches.  I also used Fresh Fig ink.

Global Design Project 085| Color Challenge

It is time for another color challenge at Global Design Project this week.   #GDP085  I began the process for this challenge the same way I do all color challenges.  I took inventory of what I had that might work for my card this week.  I knew the only ink color I have from the 2015-2017 In Colors was Watermelon Wonder, so I knew that would be one of the three colors used.  I then went through my cardstock and DSP and discovered some options.  I chose to use Cucumber Crush and Delightful Dijon for my other two colors for this challenge.

I knew I wanted to create something using the Balloon Adventures stamp set and the Balloon Punch.  I used the punch to punch out balloons from DSP in the correct colors and cut banners out in those colors as well.  After deciding on the design, I felt like something was still missing.  I decided to use the streamers stamp from the Balloon Adventures stamp set and stamp streamers in Watermelon Wonder on the Watermelon Wonder cardstock.  I felt like that gave it just the added touch of party atmosphere that it needed.

I chose to add a balloon and banner to the inside of the card to keep the festive mood going.  I colored in the word "full" in the sentiment with the black marker to draw your attention to the sentiment so it wouldn't get lost in a sea of Watermelon Wonder.

Make sure you check out the amazing inspiration for #GDP085 created by the design team and see all the other entries at Global Design Project 085| Color Challenge

If you love these great colors, don't miss your opportunity to get them before they are gone.  The Balloon Adventures stamp set is also retiring at the end of this month.

Eastern Palace Suite

Today is the day the amazing Eastern Palace Suite Bundles are available for you to order.  There are two special bundles available from May 1-31.  Once the new annual catalog becomes available on June 1, these products will still be available, but these special bundles will not.  The bundles are available only during May.

We Stampin' Up Demonstrators had the ability to pre-order these bundles in April, which gave us the chance to create some gorgeous samples for you.  My team had an Eastern Palace bundle SWAP, using only products from the Eastern Palace Premier Bundle.  (plus adhesive and cutting tools).
It was quite a challenge to design something without adding any additional products, but I received my SWAPS today and I now have 17 cards that prove this Bundle is all you need to make some gorgeous cards.

Here is my card for the SWAP.  I made 17 of these and re-discovered what I think I've known all along, I did not enjoy the process of mass production.  I much prefer the creative process and making one or two of each design.  But, that's me.  I discovered today when my SWAPs arrived that I do enjoy receiving all those 16 other beautiful designs.  Soon, I will be posting pics of all the gorgeous cards I received.  Keep watching this blog.
