It's week 3 of the March online class featuring Animal Outing stamp set That means it's time to make a Christmas card. No, it's not too early to get started making your homemade Christmas cards. That way when November/December rolls around you can spend time relaxing, enjoying time with family and friends, and focus on the reason for the season. And, you will still have beautiful homemade Christmas cards to give to those on your list and maybe enough to spread some Christmas cheer as random acts of kindness.
There is a challenge when making Christmas cards in March. The products I used from the Holiday catalog are now retired so I can't order extra if I need them. There were elements from my sample card that I am now out of, so I got to use my creative juices to make some adjustments as I made this card. Instead of a Santa hat, Mama kangaroo is wearing a red bow. Instead of all snowflake embellishments, today's card used one snowflake embellishment with small white enamel dots.
Both cards used the Big Shot embossing mat to create embossed images using thinlits.
This goes to show that you can be inspired by a card and even if you can't get your hands on the exact elements used, you can make a few changes and end up with an equally amazing card.
Don't let the fact that it is Spring or that holiday themed products are a little harder to find right now stop you from getting a start on your Christmas cards Enjoy your time relaxing and creating amazing handmade Christmas cards right now. Then, get ready for a peaceful holiday season.
