Wonderful Earth. . Wonderful Nature . . Wonderful You

She was so excited.  They had picked out their first home together and it even had a white picket fence and what you would call curb appeal--a manicured lawn and beautiful flowers blooming in different colors under the window.

They moved in, got their boxes unpacked, and started living life.  Work everyday, pick up supper on the way home,  and settle on the couch to relax for the rest of the evening.  Then, wake up to repeat the cycle.

Weekends were filled with fun, adventurous outings and hours of relaxing and enjoying time together.

Soon, they began to notice there was less and less space to walk around their beautiful home and the curb appeal was disappearing (unless you consider overgrown lawn and a weed filled flower bed curb appeal.)

What went wrong?
They didn't take care of their beautiful property when they moved in and it slowly turned from a place of peace, calm, and relaxation into a slowly growing monster creating stress and overwhelm.
\
Finally, they decided to reclaim the peace and tranquility and spent time getting their home and yard back to the beauty they had first fallen in love with.

If this story were true, perhaps she would have made him a card like this.

Nature tends to soothe my soul and help me find that peace and relaxation that is so vital to not just surviving, but thriving.  The story above reminds me how vital it is to take care of our corner of the Earth--not just our home and yard, but also our community, our state parks, anywhere we can touch nature  This Earth Day I find myself looking for that place in nature that can provide peace and relaxation, not stress and overwhelm
"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves."
