Tic Tac Toe Twice (Maybe Three Times)

Today was the first time I played along with the Tic Tac Toe challenge.  I had so much fun and it really stretched my creative brain to figure out which elements I wanted to put together to make a Tic Tac Toe.  In fact, I ended up making two tick tac toes, maybe 3.  You can be the judge on that

.

I have been wanting to try the technique of creating a shaker box window out of a thinlit shape.  So, I decided to use the butterfly thinlit and cut is out, made a shaker box window from the shape left behind and then glued the butterfly's body back onto the window sheet while leaving the wings detached so they can flutter.  By choosing to use that technique, I made my first tic-tac-toe (acetate, critter, diecut)

When creating the design for the card, I made my second tic-tac-toe (acetate, washi tape, embossing folder).  I embossed the pool party layer with the Sparkle embossing folder and added washi tape on the border between the top of the card front with the shaker window and the DSP on the bottom of the card front.

I think I made a third tic-tac-toe when I added the Crushed Curry (yellow) Glitter Enamel Dot to the butterfly body.  That would also count as an embellishment as would the sprinkle embellishments inside the shaker window.  So, if that counts as enough yellow, I made a third tic-tac-toe (embossing folder, embellishments, yellow)  I could have done the whole outside frame if I had only added something floral.  :)  Maybe next time.

Make sure you check out the inspiration from the design team and other creative entries from Tic Tac Toe Challenge 007.

  1. Love that you made the butterfly into a shaker, Angel...such a unique idea. Thanks for joining in on the TTTC this week.

    1. Thanks. I had seen the butterfly reattached to the spot it was cut out of, but I though some sparkles shaking around would mimic sunlight on a butterfly's wings.
