Clouds with a Silver Lining

Thanks for coming to my blog today! We are being highlighted internationally by Kylie Bertucci and you are able to VOTE for my project. The top ten winners will get to be part of an international blog hop so please vote for my project. You can do that here - http://bit.ly/KyliesFebHighlights
Our theme for this highlight is Get Well soon - What a wonderful way to cheer someone up when they are feeling down.

I think it's time to let all of you know a little bit about how my brain works through designing a card for a challenge.  I see the design guidelines for the challenge and if I don't already have something that fits the parameters, I start thinking.  And, I think and mull it over, and do an inventory of the products I have available.  I would love to have my card created and linked up to the challenge toward the beginning of the challenge time period.  But, it never seems to fail that I am completing the card the last day of the challenge.  Maybe some day, I'll get to post earlier in the week, but not yet.  The exciting thing to me is the card design that I developed this week will work for two challenges.  So, I am entering this card in both the Global Design Project #073 and Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Hop | Get Well.

The colors of the Global Design Project #073instantly inspired me to create a card with a frog. After a few days, I was inspired to use the other colors of the challenge on flowers on the card front.  I used Emerald Envy to make the card base and then used Daffodil Delight and Watermelon Wonder as layers on the card front.   Those colors also seemed to fit well with a Get Well card for the International Blog Highlight.  The bright colors instantly lead to a more cheerful outlook and hopefully feeling better whether dealing with a short-term illness or something more chronic.

I thought the embossed clouds were a perfect reminder of their "silver lining."  The inside is a reminder that whether you are going to Get Well "soon" or be dealing with illness for a longer period of time, I  am sending hope, love, and prayers along with the card.
